Job summary

Olin Chemicals in Lake Jackson, TX seeks an Air Permit Writer to interpret and implement air permit conditions across plants. You will manage NSR and Title V permits, coordinate with consultants and agencies, and prepare PBRs for multiple sites.

Required are a technical Bachelor's degree and 1+ year air compliance, with 3+ years air modeling preferred, plus travel to Austin for regulatory meetings. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering preferred.
• 1+ year air compliance and environmental experience; 5+ years air permitting and air compliance preferred.
• 3+ years air modeling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Texas and Federal air regulations and their impact on the Chemical Industry is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to occasionally visit plants and travel to Austin, TX for regulatory meetings.

Essential Functions

• Assist plant personnel in the implementation of air permit conditions by providing interpretation guidance and leveraging solutions between plants.
• Manage and track NSR and Title V air permits, including renewals, amendments, applications, and required public notices.
• Coordinate with environmental consultants and agencies to complete permitting actions and secure air permit approvals.
• Prepare PBRs for multiple plant sites and assess air permitting needs for new projects as required.
• Assist plant personnel in the implementation of air permit conditions by providing interpretation guidance and leveraging solutions between plants.
• Serve as lead contact and advise other Olin personnel during air permit inspections/investigations by local, state, or federal agencies; facilitate compliance issue resolutions with appropriate team members.
• Assist plants in preparation of Title V Deviation reports and other regulatory reports, driving site consistency in reasonable inquiry and deviation reporting.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree* in a technical discipline; Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering preferred.
• 1+ year air compliance and environmental experience; 5+ years of experience in air permitting and air compliance for chemical, plastic, hydrocarbon, and energy facilities preferred.
• 3+ years air modeling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the State of Texas and Federal air regulations and their impact on the Chemical Industry is strongly preferred, especially with regards to permits.
• Must be able to occasionally visit plants and travel to Austin, TX for regulatory meetings.
• Strong written and oral communications skills; strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and regulatory agencies.
• Must possess a valid US Driver's license.
