Job summary

Expeditors International in the United States is seeking an Air Import specialist to ensure timely movement of freight and information while delivering exceptional customer service within the Air Import department. You will handle data entry, track and trace, monitor in-transit delays, prepare documents for brokers, and ensure compliance with OPS and government regulations. Strong interpersonal skills, proactivity, and organizational abilities are valued; a college degree is preferred.

• Always meet compliance with regulations including OPS and external policies.
• Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests.

Job Description

Ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Air Import department.

• Smooth and timely freight flow.

• Daily monitoring of in-transit delays & update of the appropriate event codes.
• Timely delivery of freight to customers for Import shipments.
• Ensure documents are timely sent to outside brokers for customs purposes.
• Always meet compliance with regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customers policies / requirements.
• Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills, work well in a fast-paced environment
• College Degree preferred
