Job summary

Spirit International Transport in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks an Air Export Coordinator to manage international air freight operations. You will coordinate shipments from booking through delivery, prepare export documentation, and ensure compliance with IATA and U.S.

export laws. You will communicate with airlines and customers, file EEI via AES/ACE, track shipments, and optimize routing and carrier selection to balance cost and transit times.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in air export or international logistics.
• Familiar with IATA regulations, HTS codes, and export compliance.
• Experience with freight software; CargoWise a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process air export shipments from booking to delivery.
• Prepare export docs: airway bills, invoices, packing lists, EEI declarations.
• Ensure compliance with IATA, TSA, and US export laws.
• Communicate with airlines, agents, and customers to schedule shipments.

About the Role:

Spirit International Transport is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Air Export Coordinator to join our logistics team in Elk Grove Village, IL. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing international air freight operations for a dynamic and fast-paced freight forwarding company. Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and process air export shipments from booking through final delivery
• Prepare and review export documentation including airway bills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipper's export declarations
• Ensure compliance with IATA regulations, TSA requirements, and U.S. export control laws
• Communicate with airlines, overseas agents, and customers to coordinate shipment scheduling and resolve issues
• File Electronic Export Information (EEI) through AES/ACE as required
• Track and trace shipments, providing proactive updates to customers and internal teams
• Coordinate with customs brokers and freight partners to ensure smooth clearance and delivery
• Manage rates, routing, and carrier selection to optimize cost and transit times

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in air export, freight forwarding, or international logistics
• Familiarity with IATA regulations, Harmonized Tariff Codes, and export compliance requirements
• Experience with freight forwarding software and CargoWise is a plus
• Strong knowledge of export documentation and AES/ACE filing procedures
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
