Job summary

Virginia Community College System is seeking an AI Strategy and Implementation Coordinator to serve as the system-wide facilitator for the AI Strategic Plan. You will coordinate cross-college initiatives, align governance structures, and promote consistent, responsible AI implementation across the system.

The role involves working with IT, Teaching and Learning, Workforce, Student Support, Institutional Research, and College AI Leads to advance AI use cases, policy development, and vendor

Qualifications

• Understanding of AI tools and applications in higher education, including instructional, operational, student-support, and workforce-aligned use cases.
• Knowledge of governance processes, responsible technology implementation, change management, and cross-functional facilitation.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and stakeholder-engagement skills across faculty, staff, college leaders, governance bodies, and executive leadership.
• Ability to synthesize complex policy, technology, and implementation information into accessible and actionable guidance.
• Skill in project tracking, data interpretation, progress reporting, strategic communication, and management of multiple priorities.
• Commitment to ethical, safe, responsible, and student-centered digital innovation.
• Proficiency with standard project and communication tools, including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the system-level coordinator and functional connector for AI strategy implementation.
• Foster engagement across colleges, align initiatives with governance and the four strategy pillars.
• Monitor progress, performance measures, and governance compliance across the system.
• Collaborate with IT, Teaching & Learning, Workforce, Student Support, Institutional Research, and AI leads to advance use cases and policy.
