Job summary

KIPP Foundation seeks a Senior Director of AI Strategy and Innovation to lead network-wide AI strategy, pilots, and partnerships. This role advises school and system leaders, negotiates with vendors, and ensures responsible, impactful use of AI across regions.

Strong prior AI expertise in education and multi-region leadership are essential. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the role collaborates with the Schools, Data & Technology, Legal, and Development teams, and supports national stakeholders

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of professional experience in mission-driven settings.
• 5+ years in K-12 education or related school-system leadership.
• Deep expertise in AI and its instructional use in education.
• Experience leading strategy across multi-region organizations.
• Ability to design measurement and evaluation for pilots and programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead KIPP's network-wide AI strategy aligned to One KIPP and 2030 plan.
• Serve as AI expert and adviser to regions, Schools team, and leadership.
• Own network position on instructional AI and standard for tool judgments.
• Translate strategy for practitioners: regional superintendents, funders, school leaders.
• Manage AI pilots, evidence collection, and cross-region collaboration.
