Job summary

Sandisk is seeking an AI/ML ASIC Architect in Milpitas, CA to develop AI storage solutions and accelerator architectures for next-generation products. You will drive frontend architecture, define I/O subsystems, and collaborate with design, product planning, and RTL teams to evaluate performance, power and area tradeoffs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Computer/Electrical Engineering and architecture authoring specifications.
• Strong background in ASIC/SoC architecture with PCIe/UCIe/CXL and DMA engines.
• Knowledge of I/O subsystems interacting with embedded processors and host CPUs.
• Good understanding of computer/graphics architecture, ML and LLM.
• Experience designing GPU/TPU/xPU accelerators with high-bandwidth memory.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI/ML ASIC architecture integrating AI Storage with accelerators and I/O subsystems.
• Define PCIe/UCIe/CXL DMA architectures and interactions with SoC subsystems.
• Author architecture specifications and guide pre-silicon design/verification.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to meet PPA targets.
• Improve AI/ML ASIC performance via hardware/software co-optimisation and post-silicon analysis.
• Support architecture roadmap with input from product planning and RTL teams.
• Evaluate memory hierarchy and bandwidth for large-scale LLM workloads.
