Job summary

Etched in San Jose is seeking a talented Computer Architect to join our architecture team and design next-generation AI accelerators for inference workloads. You will work on compute architectures, performance modeling, and cross-functional collaboration to bring chip concepts to silicon, partnering with RTL, verification, and physical design.

This fully in-person role at Santana Row includes opportunities to influence architecture choices across the company and work with cutting-edge process

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in computer architecture, ASIC design, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of pipelines, memory hierarchies, and interconnects.
• Experience with performance modeling and architectural simulation tools.
• Hands‑on experience with floating-point datapaths or arithmetic-intensive circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze chip architectures optimized for AI/ML workloads, focusing on throughput, latency, and power.
• Contribute to power and area estimation methodologies for early-stage exploration.
• Create architectural specifications and interface definitions for compute blocks and subsystems.
• Collaborate with RTL, verification, physical design, and software teams to ensure feasibility and optimization.
• Conduct architectural experiments using cycle-accurate simulators and analytical models.
• Support integration by providing architectural guidance and resolving design challenges.
