Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior Engineer in AI/ML and cloud.
• Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud provider and their AI/ML services.
• Experience with data architecture, data warehouses, data lakes, and big data technologies.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks.

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in AI and emerging technologies, is seeking a talented AI Solutions Architect to design and implement scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring our AI strategies are robust, efficient, and future-proof. You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and data architectures to deliver transformative AI capabilities. This position is based in Welkom, Free State, ZA and offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions, leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to understand their challenges and translate them into technical requirements for AI solutions.
• Define and document technical architectures, including data pipelines, model deployment strategies, and infrastructure requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams during the implementation phase.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate AI/ML services, tools, and technologies.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate technical approaches.
• Stay updated on cloud technologies, AI trends, and emerging data platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior Engineer with a focus on AI/ML and cloud platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies.
• Experience with machine learning lifecycles, model deployment, and MLOps.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and experience with ML frameworks.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
