About the Role

Our client, a leader in predictive analytics and business intelligence, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Scientist specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This critical role, located in Centurion, Gauteng , will involve developing and deploying sophisticated ML models to solve complex business problems, drive strategic insights, and enhance product offerings. You will work with large, diverse datasets, applying advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms for predictive modeling, classification, clustering, and natural language processing.
• Clean, transform, and prepare large, complex datasets for analysis and model training.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
• Evaluate and validate model performance, iterating on models to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
• Deploy ML models into production environments, working closely with engineering teams.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in AI/ML and data science, identifying opportunities for innovation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data science solutions.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer.
• Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy).
• Expertise in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Deep understanding of various ML algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, deep learning, reinforcement learning).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for ML workloads is desirable.
