Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to design and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions for a global client base. You will lead migrations, governance, and architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP in a fully remote role.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in IT infrastructure with cloud focus, strong IaC expertise (Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible), and solid DevOps and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in IT infrastructure with 5+ years in cloud architecture/design.

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in cloud-native solutions and digital transformation, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Cloud Architect . This is a fully remote position, allowing you to design and implement cutting-edge cloud solutions from anywhere, supporting a broad client base that includes organizations operating within or looking towards the region of Welkom, Free State, ZA . You will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), guiding clients through their cloud adoption journey. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, migration strategies, and a deep understanding of DevOps principles. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Lead cloud migration strategies and execution for complex enterprise applications.

• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust cloud solutions.
• Develop architectural blueprints, technical documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.

• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with others.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and data management in cloud environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
