Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Software Engineer - AI for its CoCounsel Forward Deployed Engineering team in a hybrid environment. You will design and deploy AI-powered solutions for law firms and corporate legal departments, translating workflows into scalable technical implementations and supporting client engagements.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of production software experience, strong Python skills, and familiarity with AI tooling, APIs, and LLM concepts.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Python and familiarity with AI/ML tooling and APIs.
• Understanding of core ML and LLM concepts, including prompt design and workflow orchestration.
• Experience integrating external APIs, automating workflows, or building data pipelines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments and contributing across projects.

Responsibilities

• Partner with AI Solution Engineers, Architects and senior teammates to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions for legal customers.
• Translate legal workflows and business needs into reliable technical solutions using foundation models and enterprise platforms.
• Contribute to technical discovery, solution delivery, prototyping, integrations, and evaluation of AI outputs for legal use cases.
• Ensure deployed systems are practical, accurate, secure, and compliant with enterprise standards.
• Support client engagements by participating in discovery sessions and scoping use cases.
• Develop automation scripts, APIs, and integration components tailored to customer environments.
