Job summary

Velaura AI, Inc. seeks a Principal AI SoC Runtime Software Architect to own the software architecture converting Velaura’s heterogeneous AI SoC into a coherent, high-performance execution platform.

You will define and lead the end-to-end runtime across sensor ingest, preprocessing, AI inference, and delivery of results to robotics and edge AI applications, coordinating CPU cores, AI accelerators, vision engines, and embedded processors for low-latency, scalable workloads.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and building production runtime systems, embedded middleware, multimedia frameworks or other performance-critical systems software.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and hands-on contribution to production runtime software spanning APIs, libraries, drivers, firmware and hardware.
• Deep understanding of heterogeneous and asynchronous execution, including queues, dependencies, synchronization and resource management.
• Knowledge of device memory, DMA, IOMMU/SMMU, cache coherency, memory mapping, shared buffers and kernel/user-space interfaces.
• Experience optimizing end-to-end data movement across multiple hardware engines.
• Experience designing stable runtime APIs with versioning, error handling and recovery.
• Ability to debug cross-layer correctness and performance problems using data-driven methods, profiling and tracing.
• Technical leadership across components, translating requirements into architectures, interfaces and validation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define the SoC-wide execution model for coordinating workloads across heterogeneous compute and media engines.
• Set architecture and direction for the AI inference runtime and interfaces to frameworks and the Velaura SDK.
• Own end-to-end dataflow for sensor-to-application pipelines across camera, media, preprocessing, inference and postprocessing.
• Define memory and buffer-sharing architecture across user space, kernel, and hardware engines with clear ownership and coherence.
• Define division of responsibility among runtime, kernel drivers, firmware and hardware engines with telemetry and recovery semantics.
• Partner with the compiler team to define compiler–runtime contracts for metadata and execution information.
• Establish system-wide observability and performance metrics across software and hardware for latency, throughput and power.
• Define resilience and validation architecture including fault containment and qualification criteria.
