Job summary

Sprout is seeking an experienced data center hardware engineer to support Sales and customers on NVIDIA AI systems and hyperscaler gear. You will spend most of your week in front of Sales and hardware, guiding configurations and ensuring accuracy of specs and readiness for sale.

You will troubleshoot GPUs, baseboards, NVLink/NVSwitch, and network fabrics, while owning burn-in and certification tests to certify units as sellable. Strong OEM server knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center hardware engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA AI systems: DGX or HGX A100/H100.
• Experience with InfiniBand fabric: HDR/NDR, ConnectX adapters, switches, subnet management.
• Fluent across major OEM servers (Dell EMC, HPE, Supermicro, Lenovo, Cisco).
• Ability to read mixed hardware manifests and advise on configuration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Sales (about 60%).
• Troubleshoot GPU, baseboard, NVLink/NVSwitch, PSU, cooling, and fabric issues.
• Configure and validate InfiniBand and Ethernet fabric and adapters.
• Own configuration/assembly quality for customer orders.
• Own burn-in and certification testing and sign-off on units.
• Document recurring questions into reusable reference material.
• Maintain internal config catalog and assist sales with pricing.
