Job summary

Exa seeks a Technical Product Marketing Manager to own a weekly cadence of technical content for engineers, focusing on benchmarks, tutorials, and retrieval insights. You will shape how Exa is discovered by AI models and developers, ensuring credible, citable material across platforms.

You’ll collaborate with Digital Marketing and R&D to map topics, measure impact, and automate workflows where possible. This is an in-person role based in San Francisco HQ.

Qualifications

• 4+ years writing technical content for developers at an API-first, infrastructure, or developer tools company.
• A public portfolio you personally wrote and can defend.
• Proven taste in production values for your content.
• Real developer credibility: you read code, call APIs, run benchmarks, and can build a small demo.
• A working thesis on answer engine optimization, with tried-and-measured results.
• Working knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals and content analytics.
• A proven AI builder mindset: you’ve shipped research/writing pipelines using LLMs and know what still needs human touch.

Responsibilities

• Own a steady publishing cadence of technical content for engineers with emphasis on video: tutorials, benchmarks, architecture deep dives, comparisons, and release commentary.
• Own how Exa appears in AI-generated answers: entity coverage, structured content, citation-worthy sources, and measurement of citation share across models.
• Own the organic topic map and content/link strategy in partnership with Digital Marketing.
• Own the substantive point of view on retrieval quality and different search types.
• Own reporting that connects content to pipeline: organic sessions, signups, AI citation tracking, and deals influence.
• Design workflows to turn ideas into published, technically accurate pieces quickly.
