Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical informatics or closely related field preferred.
• PhD completed within last 10 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel AI models and software components for SPARC’s AI-accelerated drug discovery pipeline.
• Conduct in silico research and partner with experimental collaborators in lab-in-the-loop mode.
• Contribute as Co-Investigator to extramural grant proposals for AI drug discovery.
• Provide SPARC center service work including codebases, model registries, and GPU/HPC workflows.
• Draft manuscripts and progress reports for sponsors and internal leadership.
• Foster collaborations within UAB and national/international partners.
• Mentor junior researchers in AI methods and reproducibility.
