The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Systems Pharmacology AI Research Center (SPARC), is seeking a Scientist II to join their team. This role develops AI models and software for SPARC's AI-accelerated drug discovery pipeline, performs in silico research, and partners with experimental collaborators in a lab-in-the-loop setup with UAB, regional, and national groups.

The Scientist II is expected to help obtain AI drug discovery research funding as a Co-Investigator, perform SPARC service work,

Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical informatics, computing, data science, AI, or related field is preferred.
• PhD completed within the last 10 years preferred.
• Strong programming and scientific writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop AI models and software for SPARC's drug discovery pipeline.
• Conduct in silico research and collaborate with lab/clinical teams.
• Draft aims, data, and budgets to support grant proposals.
• Publish manuscripts and progress reports; present findings.
• Mentor junior researchers and build collaborations across sites.
