Job summary

HP is seeking an AI Runtime / ML Model Systems Engineer to define architecture and performance strategy for AI workloads across HP PCs. You will shape runtime frameworks, model placement, and execution across CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs, translating requirements into architectural decisions.

You will work with platform architects and engineering teams to balance inference performance, power, and thermal constraints, ensuring reliable AI experiences on diverse hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, IT, or related field.
• Experience designing AI runtime systems, inference platforms, or model execution frameworks for edge devices.
• Strong understanding of AI models using CPU, GPU, and NPU acceleration.
• Experience with ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, or OpenVINO and their hardware dependencies.
• Able to translate product requirements into system architectures and specs.

Responsibilities

• Define runtime architectures and performance strategies for AI workloads across heterogeneous compute resources.
• Assess model types, memory, and workload behavior to influence system design.
• Design runtime abstraction layers connecting apps and models to inference engines.
• Define model placement and scheduling across CPU, GPU, and NPU with fallbacks.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate across platform, security, and hardware teams.
