Job summary

Ekimetrics in Paris is offering a six-month internship in the Innovation Department to develop remit, an agentic system for semi-automating the data science workflow. You will work with senior data scientists and AI builders on applied AI research and production engineering, using your ML and programming skills.

You will engage with business problem framing, data design, modelling, evaluation, and integration with Databricks stack, contributing to trustworthy, governed AI at scale.

Qualifications

• Final-year master's or engineering student with strong foundations in machine learning, statistics and programming.
• Fluency in English and strong communication skills to explain results to non-specialists.
• Proficient in Python and standard data science toolkit (pandas, scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• Review the latest research on agentic data science and evaluation of AI agents, building on the team’s recent work.
• Design and implement remit's agents, focusing on problem framing, data design and automatic checks for data leakage.
• Help define how the system works with business users: when to ask questions, when to stop, and how to explain results clearly.
• Extend the system toward modeling and evaluation using trusted tools (scikit-learn, AutoML, tabular foundation models).
• Build a benchmark of realistic business cases, run experiments and participate in a pilot with business users.
• Help integrate the system with the Databricks stack (Unity Catalog, MLflow) for governed operation of agents.
