Job summary

OpenAI seeks a Legal Program Manager focused on regulatory compliance to build cross‑functional programs that translate counsel’s guidance into practical operations. Initial focus may include content moderation and frontier AI governance, with priorities shaped by the team.

You will partner with internal and external counsel, other legal managers, and technical teams to coordinate implementation, evidence collection, reporting, and ongoing compliance across regulations and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of program management, regulatory compliance, or related fields in tech‑forward or regulated environments.
• Experience working with an in‑house legal team is preferred.
• Ability to translate legal/regulatory requirements into operational workflows.
• Experience building and scaling compliance programs with documentation and evidence.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance programs end to end with defined scope, owners, milestones, risks, and escalation paths.
• Translate regulatory guidance into repeatable workflows, controls, and documentation across portfolios.
• Build partnerships across Product, Engineering, GRC, and Compliance to align priorities and deliverables.
• Support regulatory inquiries, audits and investigations with counsel and organized evidence.
• Maintain a reliable source of truth for obligations, controls, decisions, evidence, and reporting.
• Identify gaps, track remediation, and elevate blockers while keeping counsel in the loop.
