Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced counsel to lead high-stakes regulatory investigations, enforcement matters, and related litigation across the United States and international bodies. You will manage inquiries from initial contact through resolution, shaping practical, technically informed strategies while coordinating with product, safety, and executive teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in regulatory investigations and/or litigation at tech companies or law firms.
• Direct engagement with regulators and opposing counsel in complex matters.
• Ability to translate technical facts into clear legal strategy and advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory inquiries, investigations, and enforcement matters in the US and internationally.
• Develop strategy for enforcement proceedings and related litigation.
• Coordinate with privacy, IP, cybersecurity, and other teams on related disputes.
• Manage outside counsel, set budgets, and oversee timelines and quality.
