Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Data Architect to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native data platforms that enable analytics, AI, ML, and Generative AI solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and teams to guide architecture decisions while staying involved in delivery.

You will drive data platform modernization across AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, and Snowflake, mentor engineers, and contribute to pre-sales activities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related discipline.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Strong understanding of data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, streaming architectures, and governance concepts.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience leading architecture efforts from discovery through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve cloud-native data architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, and real-time platforms.
• Translate business objectives into scalable, secure data solutions.
• Lead architecture and technical design from discovery to implementation.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver modern data platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Design AI-ready data foundations for analytics, ML, Generative AI, and agentic AI workloads.
• Apply AI-enabled engineering practices to improve quality, productivity, and delivery.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and stakeholder alignment.
• Mentor engineers and architects to grow capabilities and foster learning.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams and Centers of Excellence to share best practices.
• Support business development with solution design and pre-sales efforts.
