Job summary

Schaeffler is launching an Accelerated Leadership Program in Wooster, OH, offering a two-year rotation path across North America with cross-functional exposure and leadership development. The first rotation begins in Wooster, with a guaranteed permanent engineer role in AI R&D Enablement after completion.

The program targets candidates with a computer engineering or related background, interest in AI for R&D, and willingness to relocate every six months. International rotations possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Experience with prompt engineering, AI workflow development, or automation.
• Interest in applying AI to R&D enablement and production support.
• At least two rotations of relevant co-ops or internships.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Strong background in machine learning and the utilization of AI in engineering.
• Exposure to FEA/CFD/process simulations with commercial CAD and simulation tools.
• Leadership experience or exposure preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Willingness to relocate every six months.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a mentor to develop best practices and evolve into a leader at Schaeffler.
• Gain knowledge alongside experts in cross-functional departments.
• Support simulation workflow optimization through scripting and AI.
• Investigate creation of custom AI agents and simulation inferencing through model training using PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Assist with post-processing of results for report automation.
• Apply AI methods to help improve production support and reduce R&D inefficiencies.
• Participate in training based on the 70:20:10 model, emphasizing hands-on experience, mentoring, and formal training.
• Complete leadership training and use tools to develop leadership skills.
• Become equipped for the guaranteed position upon graduation.
