Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced IT Project/Program Manager to lead multiple AI initiatives with 7+ years of project management expertise. You will translate business needs into project plans and backlogs, coordinate with AI architects and data teams, and drive on-time delivery through 8-week cycles.

Strong PMI knowledge, vendor management, and Jira-based workflows are required. PMP is strongly preferred, and pharma/biotech experience is a plus.

Qualifications

7+ years of IT Project/Program Management experience.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, up to 4 AI initiatives.
Hands-on project delivery with AI, Generative AI, AI Agents, or intelligent automation.
Understand AI concepts such as LLMs, AI Agents, RAG, APIs, integrations, enterprise data, security, testing, and monitoring.
Projects move quickly with ~8-week implementation cycles.
PMI project management knowledge: scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, governance, change control, stakeholders.
Convert business requirements into project plans, backlogs, user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria.
Manage RAID logs, action items, decisions, risks, project status, sprint/release plans, PMO documentation.
Coordinate with AI architects, developers, data teams, Cloud/Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and business teams.
Manage vendors/implementation partners: SOWs, timelines, deliverables, escalations.
Experience with SIT, UAT, defect management, deployment, cutover, hypercare, and production support transition.
Strong communication skills and ability to provide updates to leadership, PMO, business, and technical teams.
Experience with Jira plus tools like Smartsheet, MS Project, ServiceNow, Teams, or SharePoint.
PMP is strongly preferred. Scrum/SAFe/PMI-ACP certifications are a plus.
Pharma, biotech, life sciences, or another regulated industry experience is preferred, not mandatory.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead IT PMO-aligned project management across multiple AI initiatives.
Develop plans, backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria from business requirements.
Maintain RAID logs, action items, decisions, risks, and project status updates.
Coordinate with AI architects, developers, data teams, and security/privacy groups.
Manage vendors and implementation partners, including SOWs and deliverables.
Oversee SIT/UAT, deployment, cutover, and production support transition.
Communicate clearly with leadership, PMO, business, and technical teams.
