Job summary

Snowflake in the United States seeks a seasoned Solutions Architect for the Observe post-sales practice to design scalable observability architectures and hand them off to Implementation Engineers. You will validate production-scale readiness and document decisions with precision.

The role requires 8+ years in customer-facing tech roles and deep OpenTelemetry, cloud, and Kubernetes expertise, plus strong documentation and communication skills. Salary information is provided on the posting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Solutions Architect, staff/principal engineer, observability engineer or SRE).
• Deep expertise in observability platforms and telemetry across logs, metrics and traces.
• Strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry: instrumentation, collectors, exporters, multi-signal pipelines.
• Proven ability to design or lead migrations from commercial observability platforms to modern alternatives.
• Experience building durable, scalable architectural designs for complex enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containers, and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills with engineering teams and senior leadership.
• Experience producing high-quality technical documentation: architecture diagrams, runbooks, design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in technical discovery on SA engagements with Implementation Engineers.
• Design end-to-end observability architectures on Observe from ingestion to retention.
• Define implementation approaches and architecture blueprints for IE execution.
• Validate configurations and data models meet production-scale requirements.
• Advise on OpenTelemetry adoption strategies and migration planning.
• Produce clear handoff artifacts and maintain field demo infrastructure for pre/post-sales.
• Architect target designs for complex migrations from legacy platforms to Observe.
• Identify data quality risks and design scalable replacements where needed.
