Job summary

Gusto is seeking an AI Engineer to own the AI-first product roadmap for the Legal & Compliance technology portfolio within EAIT. You will translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions across CLM, e-signature, and GRC platforms, guiding solution design and governance.

You will lead end-to-end AI-enabled redesigns of legal workflows, ensure privacy and security, and collaborate with Legal, IT risk, and audit teams. This role emphasizes responsible AI and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise applications, legal operations / legal technology, business systems, or product management.
• Demonstrated experience delivering AI-powered products or features—generative AI/LLMs, AI assistants, or intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI-first product roadmap for Legal & Compliance technology within EAIT.
• Design and deliver generative AI capabilities across the legal stack (contracts, e-discovery, policy Q&A).
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for AI-enabled workflows.
• Lead stakeholder partnerships across Legal, Compliance, IT, and executive leadership.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, privacy, privilege protection, and governance.
