Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP seeks a Lead Software Engineer to own full-stack applications built with React, .NET, Next.js and Azure. This hands-on leadership role involves writing and reviewing code, setting engineering standards, making architectural decisions, and mentoring other engineers, while partnering with product managers, architects and business stakeholders to ship reliable software.

You will lead design and delivery from architecture through production support, drive AI and GenAI integrations,

Qualifications

Lead the design and delivery of full-stack apps using .NET, React/Next.js, and Azure.
Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, performance, and security.
Mentor engineers and participate in hiring and onboarding.

Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of full-stack apps from architecture to production support.
Set code quality, testing, performance, and security standards.
Make architectural decisions for new features ensuring scalability and observability.
Lead AI and GenAI integrations, including LLMs, RAG and semantic search.
Mentor engineers through pairing and design reviews.
Collaborate with product managers, designers and architects on technical plans.
Own production reliability: observability, incident response, root-cause analysis.
Apply security best practices across the stack.
Partner with DevOps on CI/CD, AKS, and cloud deployment patterns.
Stay current on technologies and share recommendations.
Participate in hiring and onboarding new engineers.
