Relativity is seeking an early-career to mid-level Advanced Software Engineer to join the Gavel team. You will grow by delivering end-to-end agentic features for lawyers, collaborating with founders, and shipping features across the Word add-in and web app.

This hybrid/remote role offers exposure to scale and AI-powered legal tech. You will work with a small, founder-led team, learn from experienced engineers, and advance toward ownership of complex systems in a distributed, cloud-native

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python; experience building full-stack web apps with React and SQL.
• Experience building agentic solutions with LLMs; able to explain prompts, tool calls, embeddings, and failure points.

Responsibilities

• Build features across the full stack of Gavel Exec, including agent tools and front-end work.
• Write and run evaluations, ship behind feature flags, monitor outcomes.
• Adopt a modern software lifecycle with small commits, feature flags, and quick rollbacks.
• Fix bugs, improve reliability, and add tests for agentic systems.
• Pair with senior engineers on design and code reviews; document learnings for others.
• Tackle increasingly ambiguous problems as readiness grows.
