Job summary

Relativity, a leading legal data intelligence company, is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer for the Gavel project. You will grow from early-career to mid-level, working with founders and shipping agentic features across the stack, including Word add-in front-end and web app.

Based in the United States with a hybrid/remote option, you will tackle end-to-end ownership, learn from the team, and contribute to AI-powered governance of legal data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python with full-stack web app experience.
• Experience with React, APIs, SQL databases, and cloud services.
• Hands-on work with agentic solutions using LLMs and tool calls.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers, and CI/CD.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Build features across the full stack of Gavel Exec, including agent tools and API endpoints.
• Write and run evaluations, and interpret results.
• Ship changes behind feature flags with production monitoring.
• Learn SDLC with small, frequent commits, feature-flagged deployments, and safe rollbacks.
• Fix bugs, improve reliability, and add tests for agentic systems.
• Pair with senior engineers on design and code reviews.
• Tackle ambiguous problems and demonstrate readiness.
