Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer to join the English Language Arts Content Development team. You will contribute as a content and assessment expert to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients across the United States, collaborating with educators, departments, and partners.

You will develop test items, specifications, and blueprints, and leverage AI-powered tools to ensure quality and accessibility. Strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary content areas preferred.
• Strong content knowledge and awareness of educational trends.
• Experience or familiarity with AI-assisted content development in education.
• Experience prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary docs.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate to integrate AI assets in assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Select, assign, and train item writers and educators for item development.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers during planning and status reviews.
• Work closely with test development managers and psychometricians.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies in content creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
