Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer to join the English Language Arts Content Development team. You will work as a content and assessment expert to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients across the United States.

You will leverage AI-powered tools to create and review items, passages, and test specifications, collaborating with educators and psychometricians to ensure accessibility and quality. This is a full-time on-site role in the U.S. Alaska location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education preferred.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted content development or strong potential to use AI effectively.
• Experience prompting/evaluating AI-generated content for education.
• Ability to work with AI tools and unfamiliar software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong planning, organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in learning new AI technologies as they evolve.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels.
• Create item/passage/test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI tools to support assessment content with accessibility in mind.
• Collaborate to integrate AI assets in assessment workflows with education expertise.
• Select, manage and train item/passage writers and educators.
• Support customer meetings with content assessment expertise.
• Assist in test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning and status meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers and psychometricians.
• Stay current with AI technologies in educational content creation.
