Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist, Content Developer for the English Language Arts Content Development team to craft K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as both a content and assessment expert, collaborating with educators and business partners to ensure accessible, standards-based content.

You will leverage AI-powered tools to develop, review, and enhance assessment items, passages, and test materials, contributing to item development plans and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, train, and manage item/passage writers and educators for standard-based items.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of test forms; consult with customers as required.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies in educational content creation.
