Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer for the English Language Arts Content Development team. You will create and review K-12 assessments, leveraging AI tools to ensure high quality, accessible content for state and district clients.

Collaboration with educators and Pearson teams is essential. You will develop test items and specifications, participate in customer meetings, and stay current with AI technologies to enhance content creation and assessment workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• 5+ years as an elementary or secondary teacher in the content area preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Some experience in large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Familiar with all phases of development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education.
• Proficient with basic software tools and tech; able to learn unfamiliar programs.
• Interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to address challenges for diverse audiences.
• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items (MC, TE, ER, etc.) across grade levels.
• Help develop item specs, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI assets into workflows; provide feedback.
• Select, manage, and train item writers and educators for item development.
• Assist in customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning and reviews.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians.
• Stay current with AI tech in educational content creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
