Job summary

DoorDash is building a worldwide on-demand logistics engine and needs engineers to craft a 24x7, scalable data platform. You will own the full path from a question to an answer, shaping authoring surfaces, dashboards, and analytical tooling.

The role emphasizes production-ready Go/Python backends, MCP and tool-calling architectures, and AWS/Kubernetes in live services. You will ship AI-enabled analytics features, manage semantic layers, and ensure secure, multi-tenant data governance across

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong backend fundamentals in Go and Python with production ownership.
• Shipped an LLM-powered feature with retrieval and grounding, and built or extended an eval system.
• Built data platform components like semantic layers, data discovery, and caching systems.
• Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, or tool-calling architectures in production.
• Experience with traditional and modern analytics tooling, data governance, and multi-tenant data platforms.
• Prompt and context optimization at scale, including caching and cost/latency tuning.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end path from a question to an answer suitable for dashboards.
• Ship agentic analytics features to thousands of users with careful accuracy governance.
• Build data platform components for authoring, dashboard runtime, drill-down, cross-filter semantics, scheduling, and permissions.
• Develop AI-enabled services and workflows within the platform.
• Evolve semantic models, metadata lineage, and governance for scalable reasoning.
