Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an Android Software Engineer to develop AI-enabled mobile experiences using Kotlin. You will connect Android apps to AI capabilities, leverage Coroutines/Flow for responsive UI, and ensure stable performance while collaborating with backend and ML teams.

You will work on REST/gRPC integrations, monitor performance, and contribute to reliable, scalable mobile solutions ready for Google Play deployment.

Qualifications

3+ years of Android development with Kotlin, production apps.
Direct experience linking Android apps to AI capabilities (LLMs, CV, or speech).
Strong concurrency with Coroutines and Flow.
Experience consuming REST or gRPC interfaces and debugging mobile-backend integration.
On-device ML experience (ML Kit or TensorFlow Lite) is a plus.
Experience shipping Android apps to Google Play is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and release native Android capabilities in Kotlin for a consumer product.
Connect mobile experiences to AI services via well-structured interfaces.
Shape resilient AI interactions with latency or partial results.
Use Coroutines and Flow to manage concurrency and responsiveness.
Ensure robust backend connectivity via RESTful APIs and gRPC.
Investigate crashes, latency, memory, and CPU usage with profiling tools.
Build observability through logging, analytics, and user feedback signals.
Collaborate with product, backend, and ML teammates to translate AI capabilities into mobile workflows.
Strengthen release quality by addressing security, scalability, and reliability.
