Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the AI/ML Data Platforms Reliability Engineering team. You will design and deliver trusted, scalable platforms, build reusable services and tooling, and partner across teams to unblock high-impact AI use cases.

You will own non-functional requirements, establish observability and security controls, and mentor engineers to raise engineering standards while supporting production systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5 years of applied experience
• Strong hands-on coding in Python delivering production-grade services
• Experience leading use of AI-assisted development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure data handling
• Hands-on system design, automated testing, debugging, and operational stability for production software
• Experience implementing observability, logging, metrics, alerts, and incident response in production
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, AI/ML platforms, distributed systems, or infra engineering
• Ability to break down technical requirements into executable tasks and meet milestones
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical decisions

Responsibilities

• Design solutions to enhance reliability and scalability of AI/ML platforms
• Develop production-grade code and participate in reviews, debugging, and testing
• Build reusable platform services, APIs, SDKs, and libraries for model hosting and inference
• Collaborate with LOB teams to enable AI Foundation Services and generative AI use cases
• Own non-functional requirements and build tooling for observability, resilience, and security
• Establish standards and architectures for reliability, observability, automation, and Ops readiness
• Partner with product and platform teams to meet service reliability targets
• Participate in on-call rotations, diagnose complex production issues, and remediate root causes
• Mentor engineers to improve engineering quality, documentation, and operations
