Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Seattle seeks a Lead Software Engineer to strengthen the Reliability Engineering team for AI/ML data platforms. You will design and deliver trusted, scalable AI/ML services, build reusable tooling, and collaborate across teams to unlock high-impact AI use cases.

You will lead with technical excellence, own reliability standards, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor engineers to raise code quality and operational rigor across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production-grade Python services.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools and ensuring correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong knowledge of observability, logging, metrics, and incident response for production systems.
• Ability to design scalable, reliable distributed systems and manage dependencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable, scalable AI/ML platform components.
• Develop secure production code; participate in reviews, debugging, and defect remediation.
• Build reusable platform services, APIs, SDKs, and libraries for model hosting and inference.
• Collaborate with business teams to enable AI capabilities and manage delivery from design to operations.
• Own non-functional requirements and enhance tooling for observability, resilience and security.
• Establish standards and reference architectures for reliability and automation.
• Work with product teams to meet service reliability targets including performance and recoverability.
• Participate in on-call rotations; diagnose production issues and drive durable fixes.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality and operational rigor.
