Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a Lead Software Engineer in Seattle to design reliable, scalable AI/ML platforms and drive reliability engineering across teams. You will build reusable services, contribute to architecture decisions, and partner with product and platform teams to unblock high-impact AI use cases.

You will mentor engineers, own non-functional requirements, and lead observability, security, and performance improvements across production systems.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities for engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of reliability, observability, security, and scalable software systems.
• Experience designing and delivering production-grade services with a focus on AI/ML platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions to enhance reliability and scalability of AI/ML platforms.
• Develop secure, stable, production-grade code and participate in reviews and testing.
• Build reusable platform services, APIs, SDKs, and libraries for model hosting and inference.
• Collaborate with business teams to enable AI capabilities and scale deployments.
• Own non-functional requirements and tooling for observability, resilience, and cost optimization.
• Set standards for reliability, architecture, and operational readiness across services.
• Partner with teams to meet service reliability targets and participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers to improve engineering quality and documentation.
