Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own production outcomes and influence architecture across services. You will design, build, and optimize low-latency distributed systems that support AI/ML data platforms, collaborating with engineering, data science, and platform teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied experience in software engineering and formal training/certification
• Strong Java development skills using OO principles and Spring Boot
• Experience designing low-latency, production distributed systems
• Experience with AWS services (MSK, SQS, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda) in large-scale architectures
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk) in production
• Ability to communicate engineering tradeoffs to stakeholders
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and secure coding practices

Responsibilities

• Architects and implements low-latency, high-throughput Java Spring Boot based distributed services with well-defined APIs
• Designs cloud-native service architectures with high availability requirements
• Develops infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
• Implements observability solutions with Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk
• Translates ambiguous requirements into stable service designs and communicates tradeoffs
• Leads design reviews and adoption of engineering standards
• Owns production outcomes end-to-end and drives reliability improvements
• Mentors engineers and promotes ownership and learning
• Supports AI-assisted practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
• Collaborates with ML engineers and data scientists to meet platform needs
