Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and operate the AI/ML data platform infrastructure. You will enable data scientists and ML engineers to train, deploy, and scale models across the firm, driving reliability, performance, and automation.

You will lead platform tooling, CI/CD, and secure cloud environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to accelerate AI capabilities and production-grade deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Production-quality code in Python or Java.
• Strong foundations in distributed systems and platform architecture/design principles.
• Ability to architect and operate cloud-native infra on AWS and other clouds.
• Infrastructure-as-code tooling with Terraform in large-scale environments.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes, including AWS EKS operations.
• Experience with production AI/ML platforms (training, deployment, serving).
• Strong DevOps practices: CI/CD, release automation, automated testing, observability.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Linux, scripting, and networking.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and governance for code quality.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains reusable AI/ML platform infrastructure and shared services to support development, deployment, and operations at scale.
• Architects, deploys, and operates secure cloud and container-based environments for training and inference, including GPU-intensive workloads.
• Design and implement tooling, automation, and IaC to streamline model deployment and release management.
• Develops production-grade services, APIs, SDK integrations, and ML workflows for training, serving, and lifecycle management.
• Partners with data science and ML teams to align requirements with platform standards and deployment patterns.
• Optimizes reliability, scalability, latency, and cost via orchestration, scheduling, and hardware acceleration.
• Establishes monitoring, logging, observability, access controls, incident response, and production troubleshooting best practices.
• Supports enterprise AI operationalization including fine-tuning workflows and evaluation; contributes to docs and standards.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
