Job summary

Standard Motor Products seeks a Manager of Artificial Intelligence to own the AI capability from strategy to governance. You will direct analysts and engineers, decide funded initiatives, and ensure alignment with business priorities while maintaining technical depth for architecture decisions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage timelines and dependencies, and establish governance standards to safeguard data and security across AI programs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical teams or programs and delivering outcomes through others.
• Proven track record delivering AI solutions into production in an enterprise environment.
• Portfolio and project management across concurrent initiatives.
• Experience establishing governance, standards, or policy for a technology domain and driving adoption of it across an organization.
• Strong information security judgment, including data access, credential management, and acceptable-use decisions for emerging technology.
• Executive-level communication skills, including briefing senior leadership and running steering committees.
• Working knowledge of SQL, cloud AI platforms, and enterprise data architecture.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day work of analysts, engineers, and contributors assigned to AI initiatives, including task assignment, prioritization, and review of deliverables before they reach business stakeholders.
• Own the enterprise AI portfolio from intake through delivery and ensure initiatives are funded, sequenced, and tracked in the project system.
• Set architectural direction for AI solutions, including embedding and vector search design, cloud resource strategy, and API-based delivery.
• Define and maintain the AI governance framework and ensure compliance with information security requirements.
• Brief the executive team on AI strategy, progress, and risk in business terms and develop adoption programs across leadership.
• Manage relationships with AI platform vendors and partners, including licensing decisions and external collaborations.
