Job summary

Chime is seeking a Software Engineer on the AI Enablement team to build and extend internal AI platforms such as Archimedes, Bosun, and easyRAG. You’ll ship real features on production AI platforms and collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, Risk, Legal, and product teams to govern and scale AI use across the company.

The base salary ranges from $133,000 to $184,000, with eligibility for bonus, equity, and benefits. Location and experience may influence the final offer.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production‑quality features in distributed systems or platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs or ML services, or ability to ramp quickly into AI tooling.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript across services, CLIs, and internal tooling.
• Emerging platform mindset with an eye toward reuse for multiple consumers.
• Familiarity with AI engineering concerns like evaluation, observability, cost control, safety, and data privacy.
• Clear written and verbal communication, ability to explain tradeoffs to teammates.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and extend internal AI platforms like Archimedes, Bosun, and easyRAG to enable scalable, safe AI‑powered applications.
• Build reusable platform capabilities (APIs, SDKs, templates, shared services) for internal tools.
• Prototype and productionize new AI capabilities alongside senior engineers.
• Apply golden path patterns for LLM usage and refine them as familiarity grows.
• Create features enabling standardized, observable, governed AI‑powered assistants and workflows.
• Learn and apply evaluation, observability, and cost management practices across AI systems.
