Job summary

Cornelis Networks seeks an AI Platform Engineer to shape how engineering uses AI to design, validate, and support advanced networking products.

This remote US role focuses on building a private AI platform and a growing workforce of autonomous agents to automate engineering tasks with secure, cost-conscious AI. You’ll design, implement, and operate tools for AI-driven workflows and platform expansion.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python or equivalent programming language with solid software development fundamentals.
• Linux experience in development, deployment, or operations.
• Hands-on experience with MCP-based workflows and MCP client/server tooling.
• Hands-on experience building an AI agent or LLM-powered workflow beyond basic prompts.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and embedding workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI Platform configuration, tooling, and infrastructure for a private, domain-aware AI assistant.
• Build and grow an autonomous workforce of agents to automate engineering operations.
• Design, implement, and productionize new agents with FastAPI REST API, CLI, and chat integration.
• Maintain containerized Linux services, proxies, timers, and data stores; ensure reliability and security.
• Write and tune structured workflows and prompts for reliable, grounded AI agents.
• Develop CI/CD validation to catch misconfigurations and enforce standards.
• Evaluate cost vs. value; optimize model usage and deterministic code where appropriate.
• Keep the platform current with evolving AI tooling and leadership-ready recommendations.
