Job summary

MassMutual is seeking an impact-driven Engineering leader to run and grow the AI Platform Engineering team, owning people leadership, hiring, and delivery across the AI platform. You will partner with technical leadership to translate roadmap priorities into execution while fostering a high-trust engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a people manager of software, platform, or infrastructure engineers; 5+ years overall software engineering.
• Experience hiring, coaching, and retaining engineers through ambiguous priorities.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure) and multi-tenancy patterns.
• Ability to lead complex, multi-month platform initiatives.
• Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure including model serving and inference pipelines.
• Experience setting engineering standards and on-call practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication with business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or similar.
• US work authorization now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Own the people leadership of the AI Platform development team including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Drive execution against the AI platform roadmap by breaking priorities into sprints and milestones.
• Participate in architecture discussions for systems like agent runtime infrastructure and observability pipelines.
• Champion engineering excellence by upholding code quality, reliability, and operational maturity.
• Communicate team progress, risks, and resourcing needs to senior leadership.
• Advocate for team wellbeing and growth, removing blockers and maintaining high-trust culture.
