Job summary

EY is seeking a senior Platform Architect to shape the AI platform across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments. You will drive the platform as a product, define service tiers, and enable portable model access with secure, scalable runtimes.

Lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and balance performance, cost, and risk while guiding build-versus-buy decisions and ensuring operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• 9-12+ years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, SRE, or platform capabilities, including responsibility for production AI workloads.
• A record of building a shared platform adopted by multiple product teams, with measurable improvement in speed, reliability, or cost.
• Deep experience in at least one major cloud and strong judgment about portable patterns for hybrid or multi-cloud constraints.
• Hands-on engineering depth in orchestration, networking, identity, IaC, delivery automation, APIs, and production observability.
• Experience operating model-serving and AI lifecycle capabilities, including release controls, evaluation, capacity, service objectives, and incident learning.
• Demonstrated ability to make build-versus-buy decisions and explain the operational, commercial, and technical consequences.
• Experience leading complex programs, influencing senior stakeholders, and mentoring to raise engineering capability.
• This role requires up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform direction and own the AI platform vision, architecture, roadmap, and non-functional standards across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments.
• Run the platform as a product; define service tiers, prioritize the roadmap, and measure adoption and value.
• Enable portable model access with gateways and stable contracts supporting model choice and controlled experimentation.
• Architect elastic foundations for AI workloads balancing performance, regional constraints, resilience, and cost.
• Automate delivery with progressive release, rollback, and evidence integrated into the process.
• Define trusted agent runtimes with secure execution patterns for tools, identities, approvals, isolation, and replay.
• Engineer for reliability by setting SLOs, observability standards, recovery patterns, and resilience exercises.
• Make economics visible by connecting usage, performance, and quality signals to improve unit economics.
• Guide strategic choices on build-versus-buy and portability with engineering, product, security, risk, procurement, and finance partners.
• Build capability by mentoring engineers and turning emerging tech into reusable production patterns.
