Voya Financial, Inc. seeks an AI Principal Engineer (IC Director) to lead design and delivery of production-grade AI systems with enterprise impact.

You will shape architecture, own major components, and mentor engineers, ensuring scalable, reliable, and compliant AI solutions across regulated environments. You will guide LLM-based applications, retrieval pipelines, and model-driven services, partnering with product, data, and governance teams to deliver measurable business value while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
• Significant production AI/ML system delivery experience including deployment and ops.
• Strong programming skills: Python, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks, LLM tech, and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of model lifecycle, MLOps, and production reliability practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of complex AI solutions.
• Own technical direction for major components or domains within AI platforms/products.
• Drive best practices for model evaluation, testing, monitoring, and operationalization.
• Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, including model selection, system integration, and API design.
