Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking an AI/ML Tech Platform Manager to own a major platform area, set the roadmap, and balance reliability, cost, and developer experience. You will partner with engineering managers and architects to translate stakeholder needs into measurable platform capabilities.

The role supports a hybrid work schedule with 3 in-person days at core locations (Salisbury, NC; Chicago, IL; Quincy, MA) and 2 remote days, and requires US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience.
• 8+ years in platform, product, or technical leadership roles.
• 6+ years working in the AI/ML space.
• 5+ years of experience with Azure.
• 5+ years of experience with Databricks.
• Strong grasp of lifecycle management, integration patterns, and operational excellence.
• Proficiency with agile planning, ceremony participation, and outcome tracking.
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills, translating needs into platform requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vision and roadmap for assigned platform domains and investments.
• Advocate for stakeholder needs by gathering feedback and operational signals.
• Translate stakeholder needs into platform requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize capabilities, manage tradeoffs, dependencies, and change impacts.
• Partner with engineers and architects to identify innovations balancing reliability and cost.
• Monitor lifecycle health including reliability, performance, and security.
• Support governance by enforcing platform guidelines and change management.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and provide guidance for decisions.
• Provide platform owner review and signoff before components are done.
• Collaborate with product teams to drive adoption and measure value realized.
• Coordinate outward communication to platform consumers about outages and releases.
• Report progress, risks, and decisions to leadership with timely updates.
• May be called to support critical escalations and urgent IT incidents.
