Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a remote, hourly contractor to review and edit AI-generated English-language responses. You will assess reasoning quality, provide precise feedback, and propose model revisions to improve accuracy and clarity.

Responsibilities include developing prompts, evaluating outputs, and ensuring consistency with style guides. Strong editing skills, attention to detail, and experience with AI training tools are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Expert command of English (C2/Native-level preferred) with minimum C1 proficiency; multilingual ability strongly preferred.
• Strong grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and editing across registers.
• Attention to detail in identifying meaning drift, ambiguity, and errors; able to explain corrections clearly.
• Comfortable applying style guides and enforcing consistency across varied content types.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver quality in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience using tools like Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT and others.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and responses to guide AI learning across topics.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy, fluency, and relevance.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test models for inaccuracies or biases; validate reliability across use cases.
