Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to design data center rack layouts for AI/HPC clusters. You will evaluate compute, storage, networking, power delivery and cooling to optimize performance and reliability across global deployments.

You will translate high-level requirements into detailed rack designs, collaborate with hardware, software, network and operations teams, and help implement scalable, efficient compute infrastructure for demanding workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Eng
• Experience in HPC or data center systems engineering
• Experience with liquid cooling or advanced thermal management
• Experience with rack-level power distribution

Responsibilities

• Rack & Cluster Design: design scalable AI/HPC rack layouts including compute, storage, networking, power delivery and cooling
• Translate high level requirements and architecture input into detailed rack designs
• Design leading-edge thermal and power delivery for high-density deployments
• Network design: intra-rack and rack-to-rack connections to maximize performance and translate requirements
• Power: design rack-level data center power delivery infrastructure and define budgets and redundancy
• Storage: translate storage requirements into rack-level designs and optimize storage solutions
• Collaboration: work across hardware, software, network, data center, and operations teams to deliver scalable infrastructure
