Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX seeks an engineer to advance AI and HPC storage infrastructure. You will shape reference architectures, run storage-focused evaluations, and author reproducible experiments to guide internal teams and customers.

This role emphasizes building, learning, and documenting complex systems within a high-autonomy environment. You will collaborate across compute, storage, and orchestration layers, leveraging Slurm, Kubernetes, and RDMA knowledge to optimize performance on AI/HPC

Qualifications

Engineering mindset with end-to-end systems thinking, debugging, and tradeoff decisions.
Strong knowledge of HPC storage, Lustre or BeeGFS, and parallel filesystems.
Experience with AI/HPC workloads and storage patterns.

Responsibilities

Apply HPC expertise to shape AI infrastructure with reference architectures and deployment blueprints.
Create technical artifacts (presentations, design docs, how-it-works guides) for pre‑sales and enable others to upskill.
Evaluate HPC/AI stacks focusing on storage, document tradeoffs and fit-for-purpose across workloads.
Design and run reproducible experiments and benchmarking harnesses for storage technologies.
Develop reference implementations and tools to validate performance hypotheses and analyze behavior.
Present findings via demos, docs, and internal talks; create templates for repeatable evaluations.
