Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Austin seeks an experienced AI systems engineer to design scalable AI/HPC clusters, selecting compute, storage and networking solutions to optimize performance and reliability for global deployments.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, data center, and operations teams to deliver a robust compute platform, with deep knowledge of PCIe, InfiniBand, Lustre/Ceph, and power delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with HPC, AI infrastructure or data center systems engineering.
• Experience designing power delivery solutions for racks/data centers.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable AI/HPC clusters including compute, storage, and networking.
• Evaluate and select CPUs, GPUs, accelerators, interconnects, and memory configurations for performance.
• Design network topologies to maximize cluster performance.
• Understand network performance needs of workloads and trade-offs of topologies.
• Design/optimize storage solutions (Lustre, Ceph) for AI/HPC.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, data center and operations teams to deliver scalable compute infrastructure.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
